I find it particularly frustrating when I like an author's ideas and the voice of the book, but the writing and its quirks keep me from being totally immersed in the book.I did not finish it for a couple of reasons. First, there is a LOT of info dumping. On damn near every single page. That seems to be the norm for a lot of books in a series, but this just seemed like an overly excessive amount. I get the sense of being told, not shown. The book makes generous use of overly long sentences, and it makes for an awkward read. And because of those reasons, I didn't finish the book.Like I said, I like the ideas and the author's voice. I wouldn't be opposed to trying another book at a later date.. but this one was just too clunky for my taste. And I probably made it a third of the way through the book before conceding defeat.
